Outbreak Protection
Please note that the Outbreak Protection feature of SecurityPlus is only applicable when used in conjunction with MDaemon Pro. MDaemon Standard users will only receive normal virus scanning capabilities from the integrated Kaspersky Labs AV engine.
Outbreak Protection enhances email security to an all new level by integrating Zero Hour and Recurrent Pattern Detection (RPD) technologies from industry leader CommTouch Software. Outbreak Protection operates in front of MDaemon's spam and Antivirus filter to provide incredible detection rates with minimal administration.

Outbreak Protection addresses the most fundamental characteristic of spam and email-born spyware, phishing scams and viruses - their mass distribution over the Internet.
By analysing large volumes of Internet traffic in real time, new outbreaks are identified as soon as they emerge, and patterns are cached in a centralised database.
When MDaemon receives a new message a unique pattern is quickly generated from its content which is checked against the centralised database in real time. A threat level is returned to MDaemon and further action can be taken.

AntiVirus Protection
Unlike other 3rd party antivirus software packages the Kaspersky Antivirus engine within SecurityPlus is designed from the outset to work in conjunction with MDaemon scanning messages at the correct point in the message handling process.
Email notifications are sent to the recipient if an infection is detected. This notification can also be easily customised helping end users to understand who to contact if they need advice.
Infected messages can be blocked, quarantined, deleted or, where possible, disinfected.
Automated Updates. Unlike other Anti-Virus vendors Kaspersky Labs often provide more than five virus signature updates a day. MDaemon can take advantage of these by performing automated updates to its virus signatures files on an hourly basis.
Urgent updates are performed when a particularly fast spreading outbreak occurs, SecurityPlus users automatically receive emergency updates through a subscription service, free to licensed users.
Daily signature update reports are generated and sent to the System administrator.
Signature matching searches email for known security issues. According to tests by AV-Test.org, the signature matching technology in SecurityPlus catches over 99% of known viruses, the highest of any other email security product.
