Synchronising Calendar, Contacts and Tasks with a Windows Mobile Device:

Using a SyncML application (MDaemon version 9 and above) it is possible to synchronise your Calendar, Contacts and Tasks with a Windows Mobile Device by taking the following steps.
1. Download and install the Synthesis SyncML client from http://www.synthesis.ch/prod_client.php?lang=e&lay=desk
(Synthesis is a 3rd Party Application which you will need to purchase seperately, but it can initially be installed as a 14 day trial)
2. On the mobile device, select: APPLICATIONS
3. Execute the "SYNTHESIS SYNCML" application
4. Select EXTRAS
5. Select SETTINGS
6. Host: http://WorldClientURL:3000/MDSyncML.dll
(For example, if WorldClient was accessible via on http://82.69.248.134:3000 then the URL would be http://82.69.248.134:3000/MDSyncML.DLL)
Port: Port used by WorldClient at Setup -> WorldClient in MDaemon (default port is 3000)
Username: Your MDaemon username
Password: Your MDaemon password
7. Select which items you would like to synchronize
8. Select the ORGANIZER tab
9. Enter 'Contacts' for the contacts server path
(If you want to synchronise a Public Contacts folder instead then use the following format in the server path field instead: ./Public Folders/company.mail/Contacts)
10. Enter 'Calendar' for the events server path
(If you want to synchronise a Public Contacts folder instead then use the following format in the server path field instead: ./Public Folders/company.mail/Calendar)
11. Enter 'tasks' for the tasks server path
(If you want to synchronise a Public Contacts folder instead then use the following format in the External Contacts Database field instead: ./Public Folder/company.mail/Tasks)
12. It is recommended that the 'Only from...' option is enabled. This feature allows you to limit which calendar events are sent to the device.
13. Select OK
14. Select the SYNCRONISATION ICON
Possible Issues to Note:
1. At present it is only possible to synchronise Calendar, Contact and Tasks data via SyncML. To synchronise email we'd suggest configuring Pocket Outlook to connect to MDaemon via IMAP in the same way as you would a traditional IMAP client (note that TCP PORT 143 needs to be open on your network and mapped to MDaemon for the mobile device to be able to do this).
2. Personal and Public folders cannot be synchronised at the same time.
3. SyncML synchronises Calendar, Contacts and Tasks data held in WorldClient. If you use Outlook Connector then this WorldClient data mirrors the corresponding Outlook based data. However, standard POP3 and IMAP clients do not store their Calendar, Contacts and Tasks information in MDaemon and what gets synchronised using SyncML via WorldClient will not reflect your local Outlook data.
